Garda warning as driver arrested after 'dangerous manoeuvres'

A driver was arrested after initially failing to stop for Gardai, who were assisted by the PSNI
Gardai in Donegal arrested a motorist who failed to stop after being spotted performing a number of dangerous manoeuvres on Friday evening.
Officers from the Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit made the arrest. The driver in question was apprehended having initially evaded his capture.
Garda say that the arrest was made possible thanks to cross border co-operation with the PSNI.
“Bad driver behaviour is not acceptable and it will not be tolerated,” a Garda spokesperson said.
“Do not risk lives on the roads.”
Also on Friday evening, Gardai from the Buncrana Roads Policing Unit issued fixed charge penalty notices (FCPNs) to two drivers they detected exceeding the speed limit.
One vehicle was detected travelling at 137km/h and the other was detected travelling at 145km/h, both in an area governed by a speed limit of 100km/h.
Both drivers will now have to pay a fine of €160 and will receive three penalty points.
The Garda spokesperson said: “Slow down. The roads are damp and as a result will be slippy. If you value your licence, do not engage in reckless/dangerous driving.”
