Green light for 18 apartments in multi-block Letterkenny development

Donegal County Council grants permission for three apartment blocks in Letterkenny
Planning permission has been granted by Donegal County Council for the construction of 18 apartments in Letterkenny.
CR Renaissance Properties Ltd successfully applied for the construction of three three-storey apartment blocks, each containing six own-door, two-bed apartments, totalling 18 apartment units, and associated site works.
The development will be accessed via Meadow Hill, through the existing Cnoc Móinéir housing estate.
This granted application acts as a ‘Phase 4’ continuation of a previous application, which permitted a total of 46 dwellings at the site in the townland of Kiltoy.
Michael Friel Architects & Surveyors Ltd, writing on behalf of CR Renaissance Properties Ltd in support documents, stated: “To keep the cohesiveness of the development, the proposed buildings occupy a similar footprint and building height; however, the internal layouts have been adapted to house six own-door apartments, rather than the Duplex & apartment units provided in the above-referenced.”
Donegal County Council granted the proposal permission, with 24 conditions, including a condition imposed that the developer should provide adequate security of €90,000 to the Planning Authority for the provision and completion of all services required by the development, before any part of the development is commenced.
A further condition was imposed that the applicant or beneficiary of the permission should contribute a payment of €36,000 in respect of public infrastructure and facilities benefiting the development in the area of the Planning Authority that are already provided or are intended to be provided by the Authority.
