Ireland 'complicit in genocide' in facilitating €418m for Israel’s genocide

New information released by the Central Bank in response to a question from Deputy Pearse Doherty shows Israel has raised €418m selling war bonds across Europe since October 2023
Sinn Féin spokesperson on Finance, Pearse Doherty has described as shameful the fact that Ireland has played a key role in Israel raising close to half a billion euro to fuel their ongoing genocide.
New information released by the Central Bank in response to a question from Deputy Doherty shows Israel has raised €418m selling war bonds across Europe since October 2023.
Commenting on the information released to the Finance Committee, Teachta Doherty said: “The bombs and the bullets that are tearing through children and used to gun down starving people queuing for food have to be paid for. One of the key ways Israel does that is by selling war bonds.
“We now know the extent of the blood money that has been raised in Europe through the sale of Israeli War bonds. €418m has been raised since October 2023, close to €25m every month. This is only possible because Ireland provides Israel the permission it needs to sell these war bonds. Without that permission, this would not be possible.
“The government voted against Sinn Féin’s Israeli War Bonds Bill, legally sound and ready-to-go legislation, that would end Ireland’s shameful involvement with Israeli War Bonds. We cannot turn away or ignore the fact that the government is choosing to make this state complicit in genocide.”
