Plans have been lodged for 10 homes at the entrance to the Pairc Na Haluine estate.

Planning permission is being sought for the construction of 10 new four-bedroom homes in Buncrana.

Maherinture Developments Ltd. has lodged the application, which relates to a site at Magherinture , at the entrance to the Pairc Na Haluine estate.

The proposed development would consist of 10 two-storey semi-detached houses, each comprising four bedrooms, with connections to existing public services and all associated site works.

The application also seeks retention permission for existing site development works and on-site storage containers, which would remain in place until the proposed development is completed.

The site at Pairc Na Haluine previously received planning permission in 2008, when Keithlen Developments Ltd. was approved for the construction of three two-storey apartment blocks.

The approved scheme consisted of four apartments in each block, providing a total of 12 apartments. However, the development was never constructed.

Now, almost 18 years later, Maherinture Developments Ltd. is seeking to develop the site with 10 family homes instead of the previously approved apartments.

Planning documents attached with the planning application stated that an agreement in principle has been reached with Christopher Flanagan, Director of Maherinture Developments Ltd., which would see Donegal County Council purchasing two of the 10 homes from the developer.

Donegal County Council is expected to make a decision on the planning application by December 16.
