An application has been made to Donegal County Council seeking planning permission for development, which proposes to renovate the former public house and accommodation and turn it into three self-contained apartments

There are plans to turn the former Corner Bar in Ballyshannon into apartments.

An application has been made to Donegal County Council seeking planning permission for development.

The Corner Bar sits at the junction of Chapel Street and Market Street and has been derelict for some time now.

Pat and Ann Gillespie have submitted an application to the local authority in respect of the premises.

They are seeking to renovate the former public house and living accommodation into three self-contained apartments.

The application provides for alterations to all facades as well an increase to the existing ridge line on the rear projection to provide additional accommodation.

The plans also provide for connection to the existing public sewerage system and all associated site development works.

Donegal County Council say that a decision on the application is due by June 9, 2025.
