A concert that was staged in Gortahork will soon be available to watch on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.

Earlier this month, RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra held a special concert in Teach Pobail Chríost Rí in Gort an Choirce in the Donegal Gaeltacht earlier this month.

The concert, An tAmhrán is Ansa Linn, will be available to watch on Saturday, October 24, at 9:25 pm.

Some of the country's leading musicians in the world of traditional music performed with the Orchestra on the night, including Altan, Iarla Ó Lionaird, Zoe Conway and John McIntyre, Séamus and Caoimhe Uí Fhlatharta, Piaras Ó Lorcáin, John Beag Ó Flatharta, Máire and Étáin Ní Churraoin, Méabh Ní Bheagaloich and many others.

The late Moya Brennan was one of many artists remembered throughout the night.

The concert was presented by Dónall Mac Ruairí, who presents the Cóisir Cheoil music programme on Raidió na Gaeltachta. This event was part of RTÉ's centenary celebration of public service broadcasting in Ireland, and was also one of the events associated with Ireland's Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

An tAmhrán is Ansa Linn celebrated a selection of the 40 songs most loved by Irish speakers, as nominated by Raidió na Gaeltachta listeners during the AmhránRnaG campaign on the programme Cóisir Cheoil over the summer.
