Safety measures were called for the Ballynaglack road at the Lifford-Stranorlar MD meeting
Cathaoirleach Cllr Patrick McGowan calls for safety measures on the Ballynaglack road.
Cllr McGowan brought the issue up in the Lifford-Stranorlar MD meeting yesterday morning, saying that the road is being used as an ‘unofficial bypass’ during works in the Ballybofey and Stranorlar area.
“[The works] are great to see; it’s been thirty years since it was last done, so it’s important that this work goes ahead,” Cllr McGowan said, “but there are roads now being used as unofficial bypasses.
“I mention the Ballynaglack road, where there’s a massive issue. There are a lot of very close calls… and maybe now that there’s a full capacity of engineers in place again, we could see what safety measures can be put in place on that road going forward.”
Major €4.1 million safety and road reconstruction works are underway on the N15 Main Street and N13 through Ballybofey and Stranorlar, causing road users to use other routes to avoid the delays that the works are causing.
