‘Theft attempt appears to have been abandoned’ in Inishowen
Two unlocked sheds were entered and items were moved, but nothing was stolen from the property in Gorteyarn
Gardaí are appealing for information following a burglary in Carndonagh.
The incident occurred between 11:30pm on Tuesday, October 20 and 8:30am on Wednesday, October 21 around Gorteyarn. An unlocked garage at the rear of the house was entered and an attempt was made to open the roller door by moving a quad.
“The quad was not stolen, as the theft attempt appears to have been abandoned,” a Garda spokesperson said.
“A van which had been parked at the front of the garage blocking the roller door had also been pushed out of the way. A second unlocked shed on the property was also entered but nothing was stolen from it either.
“We appeal to anyone who may have observed any type of suspicious activity, people or vehicles in that area between those times, to get in touch with Gardaí in Buncrana on 074-9320540,” a Garda spokesperson said.
Gardaí recommend the following security measures to help prevent the theft of your quad, such as keeping it out of sight; keeping gates closed; using clamps; a tracking system; vehicle marking; and insurance for theft and damage.
