Ireland has no shortage of luxurious hotels, but not all of them allow you to bring your furry friends with you, so the eight most popular dog-friendly hotels across the country have been calculated.

Measuring popularity by a unique index score - Betway's generated by the number of hashtags each location has racked up on Instagram, as well as Google and Tripadvisor reviews - with the lower the overall index score the higher the ranking - spots from Galway, Dublin, Killarney and Donegal came out on top of the rankings.

The Highlands Hotel in Glenties, Ballintra’s Lough Mardal Lodge and The Sandhouse Hotel & Marine Therapies at Rossnowlagh placed fifth, joint-sixth and seventh respectively.

Glenlo Abbey Hotel & Estate, situated in the heart of Galway, is a five-star hotel that takes pride in its luxurious features - also acting as a venue for numerous wedding ceremonies. They rank first in the table with an index score of nine.

Placing joint-second in the table is the Conrad Hotel in Dublin, another 5-star hotel, which racked up an index score of eight. Located in the heart of Dublin, the hotel is situated in an amazing location, as it lies in the city centre overlooking The National Concert Hall. Joining them in second place of the rankings is The Westin, also located in Dublin.
