Applications open in Leitrim for Community Support Fund

The Community Support Fund (CSF) was announced by the Department of Rural and Community Development. This €10m fund is being provided by the Government to support community and voluntary groups and is administered by the LCDCs in each Local Authority area.

Under this scheme Leitrim has secured €265,201 in funding and Leitrim County Council is now opening applications to all community, voluntary groups and clubs in the county.

Funding will be prioritised towards addressing disadvantage in the areas that need it most.

Groups can apply for funding to help with their non-pay running costs such as utility bills (electricity costs, refuse charges, heating charges) or other non-pay operating costs for e.g. rental/lease costs, insurance bills.

Groups will also be able to use the funding to carry out necessary repairs and improvements to their facilities, purchase equipment for e.g. such as tables and chairs, tools and signage, laptops and printers, canopies and training equipment etc.

Cathaoirleach of Leitrim County Council Cllr Ita Reynolds Flynn has welcomed the funding saying that “these grants will help many community organisations, clubs, men’s and women’s sheds, youth centres and parish halls across the constituency to continue to provide valuable services to people in their communities. I would urge those committees in charge to get their application forms in before the deadline.”

Closing date for receipt of completed applications will be Monday, February 27, 2023.
