Science Week 2023
Students enjoyed a range of activities within the world of science for the annual themed week.
Bradley Chiropractors gave an excellent talk to our 2nd years on posture, how to sit correctly & carry their school bags.
1st years worked on electronic kits and made circuits to allow a light to turn on, a spinner & a music chime to work. Well done to our future Engineers!
Other activities included skittle chromatography, dancing raisins, hairdryer ping ponging, atomic chemistry, yeast balloon respiration and exploring water filtration systems along with heart dissections.
To conclude the week of activities Kenneth Gilsenan from Abbott Longford visited the school and gave an informative talk to our 5th and 6th year Chemistry and Biology students.
Gaeilge 24
Bhí an-lá againn ar scoil ag ceiliúradh Gaeilge24. Ghlac beagnach 80 dalta páirt sna himeachtaí i rith an lae. Ina measc bhí seisiún HIIT, tráth na gceist agus céilí.
Everybody thoroughly enjoyed the day and made a great effort to speak Irish throughout the day. Ag súil go mór leis an mbliain seo chugainn.
School Enrolment Evening
On Wednesday 15th November, we were delighted to welcome 6th class pupils into Ballinamore Community School for a look around our school and sample some of our subjects.
On Thursday 16th November we held our official enrolment evening, and this gave parents and guardians the opportunity to tour the school and see what Ballinamore Community School has to offer.
Thank you to our fantastic students who helped on both days to showcase our fantastic school to all our prospective students and their families. We look forward to seeing you all in September 2024!
