Carrick-on-Shannon riverside boardwalks closed during cold snap

With low temperatures and icy conditions forecast for the next few days Leitrim County Council is temporarily closing access to the riverside boardwalks in Carrick-on-Shannon.

In a social media post, the Council said access is now closed to the boardwalks at both the linear park and the quays "in the interest of public safety". The boardwalks will remain closed for the duration of the current cold spell.
