John (Scan) Gilmartin, 4 Drumanfinnila, Ballinaglera, Leitrim - The death has occurred of John (Scan) Gilmartin No. 4 Drumanfinnila, Ballinaglera, Co. Leitrim, formerly Sranagarvanagh, Ballinaglera, on February 11th 2023, peacefully after a short illness bravely borne. Predeceased by his wife Patricia and Daughter Catherine. Sadly missed by Daughter's Pamela and Angela, Grandchildren, cousins, friends and neighbours. Remains will be reposing in St. Hugh's Church Ballinaglera from 6pm to 9pm on Wednesday 15th February. Funeral Mass in St. Hugh’s Church on Thursday at 12 noon, followed by burial in Fahy Cemetery.
Eilish (Elizabeth) Rocks (née McPartlin), Beaumont, Dublin / Leitrim - 10th February 2023, in her 96th year, passed away peacefully in the tender loving care of the staff at Elmhurst Nursing Home. Pre-deceased by her loving husband Brendan. Eilish will be sadly missed by her children Fidelma, Joseph, Maureen, Deirdre and Brendan, sons-in-law David and Donald, her grandchildren Ailbhe and Ruarc and his wife Claire, her great-grandchildren Julia and Conal, and all of her extended family, relatives and friends. Reposing at Lanigans Funeral Home, Beaumont Road, on Tuesday afternoon, 14th February, from 3pm to 5pm. Requiem Mass will take place on Wednesday morning in The Church of The Holy Child, Whitehall, at 10.30am followed by burial in St. Fintan's Cemetery. John Joe McNiffe, Drumkeel, Killargue, Leitrim - The death has occurred of John Joe McNiffe, Drumkeel, Killargue, Dromahair, Co. Leitrim (ex staff of St Columba's Hospital, Sligo) He passed away peacefully at St Phelim's Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family. Dearly loved husband of Bernadette, Cherished father of Michael, John, Joseph, Annamarie and Sinead; Adored grandad of Claire and Daniel. Also Molly and Jack and their mother Aisling. Sadly missed by his loving family, daughters in law Jacqui and Mary, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. Reposing at St Bridget's Church, Killargue on Monday 13th of February from 6pm to 8pm followed by prayers. Funeral Mass at St Bridget's Church at 12 noon on Tuesday 14th of February. Philomena, (known as Phil) Blair, nee Melly, Cathedral Square, Glasgow, and formerly of Bundrowes, Tullaghan, Co. Leitrim - 4th February 2023, peacefully in Glasgow. Deeply regretted by her loving husband Peter, sons Martin and Peter, daughters-in-law, brother Peter Melly (Tullaghan), grandchildren,brothers-in-law sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and all her relatives, neighbours and friends. Predeceased by her parents Michael and Bridget Melly,brothers and sisters Eamonn, Ellen (Nellie), Michael, Mary, Nora, Seamus, Patsy and Kathleen. Removal from the residence of her brother Peter Melly, Bundrowes, Tullaghan on Monday morning, 13th Feb., at 10.30am to arrive at St. Patrick's Church, Tullaghan for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am. Burial afterwards in Finner Cemetery, Bundoran.
