Gardai are warning the public about the danger of pick pockets in public spaces after woman robbed on train to Carrick-on-Shannon

Gardai in Leitrim are warning the public of the dangers of pickpockets in public spaces, after a local incident.

The call comes as Gardai appeal for witnesses after a woman on the Dublin to Sligo train was reported being robbed as she arrived in Carrick-on-Shannon.

Shannonside have reported that the incident occurred on the 25th of October as the woman was leaving the train at Carrick on Shannon when her wallet was taken from her bag. She was notified by fellow passengers about suspicious behaviour when she discovered she had been robbed of a significant amount of cash.

Garda John Morgan is advising people to be vigilant of their personal property in public spaces.
