Mac Sharry could be suspended from Dáil

Sligo Leitrim TD Marc MacSharry could be facing a two day suspension from the Dáil after a ruling was made against him by a standards committee for politicians.
If Deputy MacSharry fails apologise for comments he made about Leas-Cheann Comhairle Catherine Connolly it’s likely he will have to serve the period of suspension after new rules were approved.
Independent TD for Donegal Thomas Pringle submitted a complaint after Mr MacSharry accused Ms Connolly of discriminating against him during Dáil debates and not giving him as much speaking time as other Independent TDs.
Marc MacSharry resigned from Fianna Fáil last year and a motion to reinstate him in the party was not heard due to a complaint received from a Sligo councillor alleging bullying from the TD.
