No reasonable excuse for travelling to Carrick-on-Shannon

Four people who were stopped in a van on its way to Carrick-on-Shannon while national 5K travel restrictions were in place were each convicted at the local district court.
Martin Mongan (driver), Winifred Mongan and Rebecca Mongan, all of 13 New Carragh Court, Naas, Co Kildare and Eddie Stokes, 6 Oldtown Crescent, Clondalkin, Dublin 22, all failed to appear in court last week to face a charge of breaching the Covid restrictions on February 26, 2021 at Annaduff Glebe, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim.
Martin Mongan gave Garda Michael Farrell no reasonable excuse for being outside the 5Km restriction in place at the time.
Each of the defendants were convicted and fined €100 by Judge Sandra Murphy and allowed three months to pay.
