The June/July edition is packed full of fantastic local content
The summer edition of Leitrim Life is now available — and it’s packed with great local stories, events and familiar faces.
This issue shines a spotlight on wellness and mental health, and it’s only fitting that we feature the recent Where Is My Mind? show in Leitrim, hosted by Health is Wealth. Fronted by Bressie, the event combined music, honest conversation and powerful storytelling, reminding everyone that it’s okay not to be okay.
Elsewhere, Eurovision winner and much-loved performer Charlie McGettigan reveals his Seven Deadly Sins, while Carrigallen fashion designer Kelly O’Rourke shares her career journey in our Journey to the Job feature.
We also chat to actor Darragh Gilhooly about his growing career and his recent move into directing, which saw him stage a play in Carrick-on-Shannon for the first time.
In Local Voices, we asked some Leitrim people what advice they’d give to their 16-year-old selves — and the answers are well worth a read.
Our photo calendar captures moments from the launch of Leitrim Gathering 2025, which drew visitors from near and far for a weekend packed with traditional music, dancing and community events. There’s hope it might become a regular fixture on the local events calendar.
On top of that, we’ve rounded up the best upcoming events happening across the county this summer — so you’ll have no shortage of ways to make the most of the long evenings.
