Planning application for a pedestrian bridge and walkway in Cloone has been deemed invalid.

A planning application for the construction of a new pedestrian bridge and walking trail in Cloone and Drumharkan Glebe, Cloone, Co Leitrim, has been deemed invalid and will have to be resubmitted to Leitrim County Council for assessment.

The application, which proposed a number of works including pedestrian bridges over the Cloone and Esker rivers, a gravel walkway and a walking trail connecting to St Creigha’s Well, was deemed incomplete by planners in the council.

The development would also include associated road surfacing and signage along the proposed walking route.

The application was as marked as an “incomplete application” on Tuesday, September 1.

As a result, the application cannot proceed in its current form and will have to be resubmitted to Leitrim County Council if the proposed pedestrian infrastructure is to go ahead.

The application was originally lodged on August 31.
