Three Artists, Three Visions—A Celebration of Nature, Identity, and Imagination

Solas Art Gallery, located within The Island Theatre in Ballinamore, announced the opening of three new solo exhibitions on Friday, April 11, 2025. Running until May 9, these shows bring together three distinctive artists whose works explore nature, identity, and imagination in powerful and compelling ways.

Brigid Birney – Wildflowers Brigid Birney’s work bursts with life. Through expressive, gestural marks and a rich palette, she evokes the fleeting beauty of wildflowers and the untamed joy of spring and summer. Her masterful use of colour and abstraction brings a raw, emotional energy to the canvas—her love for the natural world shining through in every brushstroke.placeholder image

BS7 – What Are You Looking At? BS7’s cinematic portraits draw the viewer in with their intense intimacy. Built up in layers of soft, muted tones, these works are at once raw and refined—filled with haunting emotion and quiet strength. “I believe that once an artwork leaves the studio, the artist relinquishes any ownership of its meaning,” says BS7. That openness is part of the work’s power: the viewer becomes part of the interpretation.placeholder image
