Technological upgrade planned for Leitrim County Council chambers

The Council chamber in Carrick-on-Shannon is set to receive a major technological upgrade.

The chamber, which hosts Council and special committee meetings will be refurbished after Easter.

The upgrade is expected to take in the region of three months and will include the introduction of a hybrid system enabling meetings to be broadcast over Teams.

Work will also see an upgrade of the meeting top table as well an improvements to the chamber PA and microphone system.

The new equipment will also create more connectivity between the main chamber and nearby meeting rooms on the ground floor of the Carrick-on-Shannon Council offices.
