Walker dies on Slishwood trail at the weekend
A walker died after collapsing on the Slishwood Trail in Sligo at the weekend.
10 members of the Sligo Leitrim Mountain Rescue Team were asked to assist after a man had collapsed along the the boardwalk section near Slish Wood as an ambulance could not reach the location last Saturday, March 5.
Coastguard Helicopter 118 was also assisting, however, despite the best efforts of all involved, the 72-year-old passed away.
His remains were stretchered out to an ambulance at the car park where he was then removed to Sligo University Hospital.
