Peter Bolger Consulting Ltd submitted the application

A decision is due from Carlow County Council on a planning application seeking approval for the construction of 65 two-storey homes.

Peter Bolger Consulting Ltd submitted the application for the development in Kilcarrig, Baganelstown on March 3rd 2025.

It would consist of 65 two-storey dwellings, 22 of which would be semi-detached.

It’s also hoped there will be nine blocks of three terraced homes, and four blocks of four terraced homes.

Permission has also been requested for a new vehicular entrance and separate pedestrian access, as well as connection to local water main, public sewer, and all associated site development works.

A decision on the development is due on Monday, June 8th.

The development has received almost 30 submissions opposing it, including two from Irish Rail.

A number of the submissions site “gross over development” and a lack of wheelchair accessibility details as the reason for being against the proposed homes.
