Founder of The Carlow Academy jumps out of a plane to raise money for youth suicide prevention

A Carlow man has taken on a 13,000ft leap for charity and has shared his experience on social media recently.

Niall Murphy, founder and director of Education and Studies at The Carlow Academy, decided to sky dive to raise money for Youth Suicide Prevention Ireland through the County Carlow Skydive for Life 2026 campaign.

“What an incredible experience! I completed a 13,000ft tandem skydive with The Irish Parachute Club (Skydive IPC)—definitely one of the most exciting, nerve-racking and unforgettable things I’ve ever done!” Niall said on his social media.

Niall gave a massive thanks to his tandem instructor Rafael and said “I didn’t do it just for the thrill.

“I took the leap to raise money for Youth Suicide Prevention Ireland through the County Carlow Skydive for Life 2026 campaign, supporting youth mental health and suicide prevention.

A video of Niall’s sky dive can be seen below.

“Every donation helps Youth Suicide Prevention Ireland continue providing vital support, education, training and programmes for young people, families and schools across Ireland”.

Niall said that this is a cause that truly matters, and one that can help save lives.

“A huge thank you to everyone who has donated, shared my fundraiser or wished me luck. Your kindness and generosity mean so much, and together we’re making a real difference”.
