Trevor Winckworth, from In Hand Guides Ltd, will be visiting Clonegal on Tuesday, 12 August to start the project. As the local community is such a central feature to this new trail, this visit will serve as an opportunity for residents and interested parties to learn more about the project, ask questions, and contribute their insights.
A key element of the audio trail will be the inclusion of local stories and perspectives. During his visit, Mr. Winckworth will be recording interviews with interested locals, with the aim of weaving their unique narratives and historical accounts into the final audio experience. Anyone with stories, memories, or knowledge of Clonegal's heritage is encouraged to participate.
Speaking about the project, Cllr. Ken Murnane, Cathaoirleach of Carlow County Council said: "We are thrilled to bring this innovative audio trail to Clonegal. It's a fantastic way to showcase the village's heritage, support local tourism, and provide an engaging experience for both residents and visitors. The involvement of the local community will be vital in making this a truly authentic and captivating trail."
