Breaking: Man hospitalised following assault in Callan

Gardaí in Callan are appealing to the public for assistance in relation to violent assault which took place in the early hours of Monday morning in Callan.

The attack took place in the Mill Street area of the town at 12:40am.

As a result of this incident a male was hospitalised for treatment to injuries caused as a result of the assault.

It is believed that a sole male is responsible for this incident.

Gardaí in Callan are appealing for to anyone in the area at the time who saw anything suspicious to contact Callan gardaí.
