BREAKING: Plans for two Kilkenny hotels appealed to An Bord Pleanála

The plans had been given the green light from Kilkenny County Council
Plans for two new hotels in Kilkenny City have been appealed to An Bord Pleanála.
The hotels (to be located at Hebron House and near MacDonagh Station) were both recently awarded planning permission, with conditions, from Kilkenny County Council.
Salway Limited had been seeking the refurbishment and change of use of Hebron House (a protected structure) as a hotel reception and ancillary rooms and extension to Hebron House for hotel, with associated site development works.
Meanwhile, Spark Way Limited had been seeking permission for the development of a hotel with ancillary facilities, to include works to a limestone wall (part of a protected structure).
The fates of both projects are expected to be decided by July 29, 2024.
