The Festival of Light Castlecomer is back for 2026 and locals have been asked to support.

The event kicks off on Friday, November 27 and the public are invited to go along to the Square from 6pm as the town lights up.

Organisers have confirmed that the 2026 celebration will bring back the festive cheer with live music, holiday stalls, and a special appearance by Santa Claus to turn on the town's Christmas tree lights.

To make it all happen, people from Castlecomer are asked to donate to the festival’s GoFund Me Page - DONATE HERE

“Our aim is to bring the magic of Christmas back to Castlecomer by lighting up the town, from the footbridge right through the town centre with festoon lighting, alongside colourful lighting on the trees on the Square,” ne of the organisers said.

“We are hoping to host a festive evening of food and crafts at Avalon House Hotel, bringing the community together to celebrate the start of Christmas.

“The Festival will rely on local business sponsorship, community donations and the dedication of the newly formed organising committee. We are asking people throughout Castlecomer to get behind this initiative and help bring these plans to life,” they added.

“Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a difference. With your support, we can create a wonderful festive atmosphere, encourage visitors into the town, support local businesses and hopefully establish a Christmas tradition for years to come.”
