Civic reception held for two 'extraordinary' athletes from Kilkenny
Two extraordinary local athletes, Gemma Haire and Margaret Turley, were honoured with a civic reception in County Hall yesterday after bringing immense pride to Kilkenny!
Gemma and Margaret's dedication and resilience shown at the Special Olympics World Games serves as an inspiration to us all, and they have now firmly secured their place in the history of Kilkenny.
Also acknowledged was the invaluable support of the Special Olympics committees, coaches, and volunteers who have tirelessly nurtured and trained these athletes.
The families of Gemma and Margaret, who have been pillars of support throughout their journeys, were also recognised.
