Preparations are under way in Kells for the 2026 Kells Kings Charity Cycle, which will take place on Saturday, August 29 starting from Kells at 9am.

Cyclists can choose from a variety of routes with distances of 116km, 68km or 30km.

The various routes pass through several towns and villages of Kilkenny, Inistioge, Windgap, Dunamaggin, Piltown, Mullinavat, Graignamanagh, Thomastown, Carrickshock and Tullogher before arriving back in Kells where cyclists can relax and enjoy a delicious hot meal included in the ticket price.

This event, which is organised by a committee of Kells locals, has been a mainstay of the Kilkenny cycling calendar for more than a decade. As in previous years funds raised will go to the Cois Nore Cancer Support Centre to help them continue providing supports for people living with a cancer diagnosis and their families.

“The Kells Kings Charity Cycle has always been an important fundraising event for Cois Nore,” said Bill Cuddihy, Cois Nore Chairperson. “The team at Cois Nore are delighted to work with the community in Kells every year to make this cycle a possibility.”

Seamus Knox and Irene Wall, on behalf of the organizing committee, described the Charity Cycle as a significant part of the Village’s annual calendar of activities, and are delighted to be associated with Cois Nore and the very important work it does.

Registration for the event is now open on kellskings.ie. The registration fee is €40. However, if you register early and online, you can avail of an online discount at a reduced cost of €35.
