Fresh plea for dedicated full-time and permanent Road Safety Officer in Kilkenny
Fianna Fáil councillor, Peter 'Chap' Cleere has called for the appointment of a full-time dedicated Road Safety Officer for Kilkenny.
"I have noted that Kilkenny County Council does not have a dedicated full-time and permanent Road Safety Officer," said Cllr Cleere.
"Other counties have a Road Safety Officer and I am now calling on Kilkenny County Council to do the same," he added.
"I will be raising this matter with the Kilkenny County Council Chief Executive this week.
"We have seen so many accidents and deaths on the roads this year alone and clearly some immediate action needs to be taken to improve safety and awareness on our roads."
