Kilkenny auctioneer says that vendors 'are getting prices way above their expectations'
Joseph Coogan Auctioneer held a land auction at his premises in Ballycomey House on Friday.
The lands were situated in Cloneen, Crettyard, ideally suitable for summer grazing hay/silage.
The land had no road frontage, situated at the end of a long narrow laneway and sold for €19,000 per acre, with six active bidders.
"There is a very good demand for land at present, with vendors getting prices away above their expectations," Coogan said.
The land leasing season for 2024 begins this Friday, with leasing of circa 15 acres of tillage land for seven years. The land is situated at Foulksrath, Jenkinstown.
Joe Coogan also has an auction of circa 10.5 acres of top-quality agricultural land with extensive road frontage on Friday.
The land is in Tolerton, nine miles from Castlecomer.
