The 98th annual meeting of the Kilkenny and District League will be held tonight in the Springhill Hotel at 7.30pm.

As well as the usual reports from the chairman, secretary and treasurer, there will also be discussions around a couple of motions and rule changes.

The newly proposed FAI Calendar which is to see teams play their league matches in a single calendar year as oppose to the current format of having the Kilkenny & District Football League played across a season starting in September and running through to May of the next year may come under the microscope with a number of other counties totally against the idea of summer football.

As well as that Freshford Town have put together a motion to change Rule 36c and it reads as follows:

- If a player has played three games with the A team players are no longer allowed to play for the B team and can only drop one grade as previously played. If Player is to be regraded there after it should be at the discretion of KDL committee, and all evidence should be provided for reason for regrading.

The club is also looking at the introduction of a new rule which reads as below.

- Any Junior team that leaves KDL and returns must return in division below the one the subsequently left and are subject to six-point deduction at start of season (in effect an administration process).

Apart from those few discussion points, it’s expected to be a quiet enough affair with all clubs required to be represented on the night.
