Kilkenny musician receives major accolade for hitting incredible milestone
Kilkenny musician Mick 'Citern' Walsh strikes silver with YouTube milestone
Kilkenny-based singer-songwriter Mick ‘Citern’ Walsh has hit an incredible milestone, surpassing 100,000 subscribers on his YouTube channel.
The achievement has earned him YouTube’s prestigious Silver Creator Award, which he received recently.
Mick, a retired motor trade professional, has long been an active musician, playing multiple instruments and writing his own songs.
His digital success can be traced back to the first pandemic lockdown over five years ago.
With live gigs cancelled, Mick began performing a weekly one-hour Facebook Live show, sharing his music with an online audience, who also found their way to his YouTube channel.
Working alongside a small but dedicated team of friends, Mick has crafted a distinctive online presence.
In his music videos, he blends his songwriting with breathtaking shots of Kilkenny and Ireland.
With his passion for songwriting and performing still going strong, his next milestone may be just around the corner.
