Reports of queues forming at fuel stations all across Kilkenny as fuel supply fears escalate amid ongoing protests and disruptions
Multiple reports have been received of queues forming at fuel stations across Kilkenny as fuel supply fears escalate amid ongoing protests and disruptions.
The M9 motorway in Kilkenny currently also remains blocked at the Danesfort junction northbound.
It's just one of a number of blocked motorway points around the country on day three of the protests, and traffic in Dublin is at a standstill as well.
Justice Minister Jim O'Callaghan has said the gardaí have called on the army to deal with fuel protesters blocking critical infrastructure such as fuel depots.
Inver fuel stations on the Castlecomer Road in Kilkenny City and in Slieverue in South Kilkenny have advised customers that they are 'currently experiencing delays in fuel deliveries'.
They stated that the delays are 'due to ongoing disruption affecting access to the Foynes fuel terminal'.
Gardaí have pleaded with protestors to engage with gardaí locally to facilitate public transport and other traffic as severe delays are taking place across the country.
