Leinster SHC- Kilkenny let late lead slip in draw with Carlow

Kilkenny 1-20 Carlow 1-20
For the second game on the trot, Kilkenny were denied at the death after a last gasp Marty Kavanagh free handed Carlow a share of the spoils with the Cats.
Played in front of a good attendance at Netwatch Cullen Park, Derek Lyng's side appeared to be in the driving seat when leading by six points but the hosts battled back bravely.
Helped by an early Owen Wall goal, the Cats looked to be in control as they led by five points at the break albeit they did have Killian Doyle sent off and that dismissal certainly came back to bite the Noresiders.
While Cian Kenny and Mossy Keoghan stood out with three points from play each, Kilkenny were a fair bit off their best and when Conor Kehoe netted in the 62nd minute Carlow grew in belief.
TJ Reid did knock over a couple of late efforts but Carlow kept coming and James Doyle from play and Kavanagh with his ninth placed ball of the afternoon ensured the game finished 1-20 apiece.
The result means Kilkenny now sit in second spot in the Leinster round-robin table with a crucial clash against Dublin in Parnell Park awaiting next Saturday.
