Man before court over drug seizure in Kilkenny City

A man is due before Kilkenny District Court next month in connection with a drugs seizure at a residential property in the city centre on Saturday (November 23).

Gardaí from the drugs unit in Kilkenny searched the property at Poytnz Lane under warrant and seized a quantity of drugs, suspected to be cocaine. The drugs have been sent for analysis.

It is understood that the drugs are estimated to have an approximate street value of €2,000.

One male was arrested and questioned by gardaí and was charged with offences under The Misuse of Drugs Act. He has since been released on station bail and is due to appear before Kilkenny District Court on December 17.
