Permission sought for new food outlet in Kilkenny City

The Lite Bite Restaurant Ltd lodge plans with Kilkenny County Council
A planning application has been lodged by ‘The Lite Bite Restaurant Ltd’ to further develop Berkeley House, 5 Patrick Street, Kilkenny.
The application is seeking permission ‘for change of use’ from a garage/store in the former carriageway to a ‘retail food outlet’.
Works will include the replacement of the existing solid external double doors with new painted glazed shopfront double doors.
Also planned is ‘hand-painted signage’ and a ‘retractable traditional canvass canopy incorporating printed signage’.
According to a cover letter submitted with the application: “The food retail outlet will comprise the sale of food (pick up/collection) for takeaway purposes only.
“The food will be prepared off-site in the applicants’ nearby commercial restaurant kitchen and sold from a fridge on the premises.”
