Reduction in numbers accessing emergency accommodation in Kilkenny

The figures were welcomed by local TD
Fianna Fáil TD for Carlow/Kilkenny, Jennifer Murnane O’Connor has welcomed the reduction in numbers seeking emergency accommodation in both Carlow and Kilkenny.
‘This is due to the hard work and commitment by both Carlow and Kilkenny County Councils as well as the key stakeholders.
Deputy Murnane O’Connor went on to say that ‘while there is no cause for celebration, as even one person accessing homeless accommodation is too many, figures of 46 and 39 show that we are moving in the right direction and it also demonstrates that the government’s Housing for All is working.
Deputy Murnane O’Connor warned that, ‘there is no room for complacency and I am happy to see that the new Programme for Government seeks to build on the firm progress made with a new national housing plan and realistic targets that will significantly reduce further those accessing Homeless Accommodation’
