Serious incident on busy Kilkenny motorway prompts urgent message
A Kilkenny business is urging local motorists to get their tyres checked, as part of Tyre Safety Day
Today (October 6) is Tyre Safety Day, and amongst those raising awareness about the dangers of worn/sub-standard tyres are Kilkenny business TC Tyres.
Posting on social media, the business shared a picture of the aftermath of a tyre blowout (pictured above) on the M9 on Saturday, where vehicles travel speeds of up to 120km/h.
The message is simple: "Don't be a statistic." Get your tyres checked!
Up to 162,000 motorists fail the NCT each year because of unsafe tyres.
Safe tyres save lives.
