Teenagers allegedly regularly harassing bus drivers in Kilkenny

Teenagers are allegedly regularly harassing bus drivers in Kilkenny City, a local bus driver told Kilkenny Live.
The bus driver stated that the harassment regularly occurs on the Johnswell Road in Kilkenny City, particularly on Saturdays, Sundays and weekday evenings.
"Teenagers turn on the crossing signal as soon as they see a bus approaching," the driver said.
"They do not cross the crossing themselves but wait for the bus to stop at a red light to show the middle finger to the driver."
The driver admitted that they could see the funny side of it but described it as 'annoying'.
This is certainly not the first time that bus drivers in Kilkenny City have had to put up with anti-social behaviour, and there have been more serious incidents in the past.
Notably, in 2021, the city's KK2 route bus service was temporarily suspended after it came under attack by thugs throwing stones three times in the space of as many hours.
Two of the buses had their windows smashed during that incident, with stones ending up inside the vehicle.
