The Backyard Band to launch new single in Kilkenny

The Backyard Band will launch their new single ‘You can be a Winner’ in John Murphy’s Orchard House Bar/Restaurant Kilkenny on Saturday, June 29.

The Backyard Band is made up of 3 former members of the band Tweed and features: Brendan Ryder (vocals/guitar), Dave Hallissey (sax, harmonica and vocals), Gay Brazel (guitar and vocals), Mick Grace (drums/vocals) and Peter Dowley (bass and vocals).

They have been together since 2019 writing, recording and gigging around the South-East.

The band headlined The Comeragh’s Wild Festival last year, and have become regulars at Kilkenny Roots Festival and Dunmore East Bluegrass Festival.

Recently they’ve been in Middlewalk Studios recording and out of those sessions comes the new single, written by Brendan Ryder.

The band will of course play their usual set of classic songs on the night with some Tweed favourites and originals also in the mix.

The new single will be available and the band are looking forward to meeting everyone.

Gig starts at 9.30pm with free admission.
