Update issued on barn owls in Kilkenny
Kilkenny County Council have expressed their delight that the barn owl population looks like its going from strength to strength in Kilkenny.
The good news comes following a project aiming to support and nurture barn owl populations here, funded under the Local Biodiversity Action Fund, provided by the National Parks and Wildlife Service and supported by the council's Biodiversity Officer.
"Thanks to Kilkenny Branch Birdwatch Ireland who is providing local knowledge and assistance," the local authority stated.
"Data from the County Barn Owl Study and the current project will inform actions in the county's Biodiversity Plan which is currently being drafted."
