Waterford City and County Council has granted permission for the development

Planning permission has been granted for a major extension to a primary school in County Waterford.

Fenor National School has got the go-ahead for the development at its address of Fenor North, Fenor, Tramore.

The development will see the construction of a new single storey ASD Unit at the school.

This extension will consist of two classrooms, a central activities room, a multi-sensory room, an office and a resource room.

Staff toilets, a cleaners store and an adjoining link corridor to the existing school building will also be constructed.

Furthermore, there are plans for a new sensory garden area, a new safe hard and soft play area to the rear and roof mounted solar panels.

A new car parking area will be developed at the front of the existing school.

The extension will be connected to a new wastewater treatment system and percolation area.

A number of ancillary and associated site works will also be carried out.

The application was submitted by the Board of Management of the school on April 29.

Waterford City and County Council granted permission for the development on July 15, with six conditions attached.
