The owners of Espresso in Waterford city have announced its closure
A popular restaurant in Waterford city has announced its closure with immediate effect.
Espresso Waterford, located on Parnell Street, made the announcement in a post on social media this evening.
Owners Claudio and Rachael wrote: “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the closure of Espresso, with immediate effect.
“This has been a difficult decision but one that we’ve been weighing up for some time.
“The restaurant industry has never been an easy one, and the challenges facing businesses like ours have ultimately made it impossible to keep the doors open.”
The owners paid tribute to all the customers they’ve welcomed to the restaurant over the years.
“But rather than dwell on the difficulties, we want to take this opportunity to say thank you.
“To every customer who has walked through our doors, shared a meal, celebrated a special occasion or simply called in for a familiar face and a chat, we want to say that we appreciate you and we will miss you.
“So many of you have been with us from the very beginning.
You've become much more than customers. You've become friends, and in many ways, part of our extended family.”
Claudio and Rachael also reflected on all the memories made.
“Espresso has always been about more than just food.
“It's been about people, friendships, conversations and memories.
“We are incredibly proud of what we've built together and will always be grateful for the support and kindness you've shown us over the years.”
They concluded by reiterating all their staff past and present.
