Two Waterford businesses have won part of Three Ireland's Grants for Small Businesses programme which sees the business secure a portion of the €100,000 bursary.

The Shona Project and Well Fed Meals have been chosen as two of 10 winners.

Three’s Grants for Small Businesses programme includes a €5,000 cash award, €5,000 worth of device and connectivity solutions, and ongoing support from Three Ireland’s team of in-house business experts.

The Shona Project is an Irish charity dedicated to educating, empowering, and inspiring girls and young women by creating safe, supportive spaces in schools, online, and in communities across Ireland.

The organisation delivers workshops, a national mentorship programme, the annual SHINE Festival, and a resource-rich handbook to encourage self-belief, kindness, and leadership among girls navigating adolescence.

Well Fed is a Waterford-based meal-delivery company offering chef-prepared, high-protein, and macro-friendly meals delivered nationwide across Ireland.

The company’s café and HQ in Waterford provide a café experience with specialty coffee, bowls, and toasties, while its online service ensures busy professionals and health-conscious consumers can enjoy nutritious meals conveniently delivered.

The programme, which is now in its fifth year, has provided Irish SMEs with an investment of over €750,000 by Three since 2021.

"This year, we received a host of extremely strong applications from an incredible range of businesses, each demonstrating impressive ambition, innovation, and drive - reaffirming the strength of Ireland’s entrepreneurial spirit. The standard of entries has been outstanding, and we’re thrilled to present this year’s award to The Shona Project and Well Fed Meals from Waterford. We look forward to seeing The Shona Project and Well Fed Meals continue to build on their success in the years ahead," Padraig Sheerin, Head of SME, Three Ireland said.
