Premier League team of the week

Pascal Gross kept up his fine form and Brian Brobbey scored a hat-trick in a losing cause.
Brighton’s rout of champions Arsenal and Manchester City’s wild win over Sunderland highlighted the final Premier League programme before the international break.
Here, the Press Association looks at the weekend’s stand-out performers.

Zion Suzuki (Aston Villa)
Kept Tottenham, and in particular Savio, at bay in the first half before his side took control of the game.
Calvin Bassey (Fulham)
Strong in defence and burst forward to bully Matheus Cunha off the ball and fire in the shot that led to Lisandro Martinez’s own goal.
James Tarkowski (Everton)
Also created his side’s goal with a long-range shot, deflected in by the chest of Thierno Barry, and was typically impressive at the back.
Bobby Thomas (Coventry)
The defender’s brilliant goal-line clearance from Igor Jesus was the key moment as Coventry earned a first Premier League win in 25 years.
Lewis Hall (Newcastle)

The full-back celebrated his England recall with an early goal and then helped Newcastle hold on for a much-needed win.
Pascal Gross (Brighton)
Perhaps the top flight’s form player, the veteran scored for the third time in a week in league and cup and added yet another assist.
Chema Andres (Brighton)
Performed well alongside Gross and headed in his midfield colleague’s corner for a goal on his first Premier League start.
Antoine Semenyo (Manchester City)

Teed up Rayan Cherki’s goal and lashed in two of his own as City came out on top in a thrill-a-minute encounter.
Nicolas Jackson (Aston Villa)
Five of the Senegal international’s 25 Premier League goals have now come against Tottenham as he scored his first for Villa in a lively display.
Harvey Barnes (Newcastle)
Laid on both goals as Newcastle flew out of the blocks against the Tigers.
Brian Brobbey (Sunderland)
The first Premier League player to score a hat-trick in a losing cause since 2007 as the Black Cats went down 5-3 in a thriller at the Etihad Stadium.
