Shayne Lavery fires late winner at Barnsley as Cambridge stay unbeaten on road

Vimal Yoganathan’s first-half goal was cancelled out in the second period.
Cambridge’s unbeaten away record in Sky Bet League One continued as they came from behind to beat Barnsley 2-1 at Oakwell.
Vimal Yoganathan’s first-half goal was cancelled out in the second period by Ben Knight before Shayne Lavery won it in stoppage time.
Cameron McGeehan should have given the hosts the lead midway through the first half but he somehow headed straight at Jake Eastwood from five yards out.
Rylan Brownlie then forced a smart save from Eastwood before Yoganathan gave the hosts the lead in the 41st minute.
The young midfielder tapped in at the back post after a scramble in the box.
The U’s levelled in the 52nd minute after substitute Lavery found Knight unmarked in the box and the midfielder’s half volley sailed past Rogan Ravenhill.
Both Brownlie and Cleary had good chances to restore Barnsley’s lead but it was the away side who won it in the first minute of stoppage time.
Lavery tapped home from two yards out after Ravenhill could only parry the ball straight to the substitute.
