As something different for local children at Easter, Granaghan & District Women's Group (Swatragh) organised two hugely enjoyable BRICKS4KIDZ LEGO workshops last Saturday, March 28. This was the first time the women’s group organised this type of kids’ workshop and it was so enjoyable.
Over 40 children, both girls and boys, enjoyed the workshops with tutor, Barbara Symington.
The first workshop was for children 5/6 years approximately and the theme was Disney! The children came wearing their Disney costumes and bunny ears and the women’s group really appreciate the mums, dads and grannies who stayed to take part- Breanainn, Chris, Dannielle, Dympna, Leanne, Lousie, Nuala and Sonia.
The second workshop was for children 7/12 years approximately and the theme this time was Minecraft! Bunny ears and this time, Minecraft tops were the order of the day. Again, mums stayed to take part- Eimhear, Katie, Kathy, Noelle, Orla and Shauna and this was much appreciated.
After the Lego workshops, the children all enjoyed a wee craft session where they made Mike Wazowski pencil toppers and mini Minecraft models to take home.
These BRICKS4KIDZ LEGO workshops were made possible due to funding awarded to the women’s group by The Honourable, The Irish Society.
The children were also treated to fresh fruit and a healthy snack on the day.
The local women's group would also like to thank committee members who helped out on the day, and beforehand too- Roisin, Noelle, Cathy, Annie, Ann, Noeleen, Shauna and Deirdre.
It was an absolutely fabulous morning and we look forward to more of the same. Magical memories for children and adults alike.
