In pictures: Naomh Bríd welcomes Kelly McGrory home after world final appearance

Tir Chonaill AC woman and Laghey native Kelly McGrory ran in last Sunday evening's women's 4x400m relay final in Budapest and was this weekend a guest of Naomh Bríd GAA club

A week on after helping the Ireland women’s 4x400m relay team to an eighth-place finish in the World Athletics Championships final, Kelly McGrory was closer to home.

The Laghey native had joined Sophie Becker, Roisin Harrison and Sharlene Mawdsley to finish in 3:27.08 at the National Athletics Centre in Budapest. On Saturday, McGrory was welcomed by Naomh Bríd GAA club, as they took on Naomh Columba in the Donegal IFC, with the visitors running on 7-12 to 3-13 winners in Trummon, where she was presented with a bouquet of flowers.
