This was an opportunity for groups to come together over dinner. Eamonn Bonner from Donegal Volunteer Centre says, "sitting around a table ideas happen."

The community groups, who work tirelessly and voluntarily for people of all ages, were shown appreciation by a gathering of 250 people from their community.

The community celebration was hosted by Edel Ni Chuireáin a former Raidió na Gaeltachta manager. She opened the celebration with words of congratulations and inspiration -an teanga Gaeilge a chothú agus a chaomhnú. "As smaointe tig gníomh"- From words come action. Events like this, while inclusive to all, give pride of place to our native language.

Event organisers would like to extend gratitude to Cllr John Sheamais Ó Fearraigh, Cllr Michael McClafferty, John Curran and Eamonn Bonner from the Donegal Volunteer Service, and to Gearóid Ó Smoláin, Údarás na Gaeltachta, who along with Energia Sna G, funded this event. Additional thanks to Óstán Loch Altan, Moses Alcorn, photographer, Aoibhe and Emer from Maureen Byrne's Dancing School, and to PCC students Darren and Niamh for their beautiful music.
